Women’s Walk

Honour and respect: a walk in the footsteps of the women of Zutphen.

Discover Zutphen through the stories of women who have made their mark on the town over the centuries. During this special walking tour, female city guides from the Guild will take you past historic sites and share personal stories that illustrate how women lived, worked and made a difference to their community.

Centred on the theme of ‘Honour and Respect’ , the exhibition reflects on the social status of women throughout the centuries. That status was not always easy, but that is precisely why their stories deserve attention. With respect for their resilience, perseverance and talent, you’ll discover how women coped with both the opportunities and limitations of their time.

Along the way, you’ll get to know well-known and lesser-known women from Zutphen’s history. How did they fare? What role did they play in the town? And how did they carve out their place? Their stories offer a surprising insight into both the past and the town as it is today.

DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, THE WALKING TOURS ARE ALREADY FULLY BOOKED.
