During National Bokbier Day, Zutphen’s town centre is entirely dedicated to bokbier, music and a convivial atmosphere. Spread across the markets, ’s Gravenhof and the Schupstoel, twenty Zutphen hospitality businesses present an extensive range of bock beers. From familiar favourites to surprising flavours: there’s plenty to sample. Meanwhile, bands and DJs provide the musical backdrop, and there’s no shortage of other beers, wine, soft drinks and various food stalls either.
One of the major crowd-pullers is the nostalgic parade featuring horses and carriages. From 11.00 am onwards, the horses will be harnessed and the carriages prepared for the journey on the grounds of the Hanzehal . At 1.00 pm, the procession sets off towards the town centre, where the bokbier festival really gets into full swing.
The bars close at 7.00 pm.
