Tineke Schouten

Tineke Schouten is well past retirement age, yet she still performs night after night to sold-out audiences. When you see her running and flying around the stage, you wonder how she actually manages to keep up with the gruelling pace of her shows. And that is precisely the question Schouten asks herself in her new show, *Femme Vitaal*.

Sitting at home twiddling her thumbs isn’t for her. But to be honest, getting out of the house is a lot harder than it was 20 years ago. To avoid disappointing her audience, Tineke is doing everything she can to stay fit and healthy on stage for years to come. What is the secret to eternal youth? Joining in with ‘Nederland in Beweging’ on NPO 1 every morning? Or perhaps something more like ‘De Perfecte Verbouwing’ on RTL 4?

In her 28th (yes, you read that right) show, roars of laughter are interspersed with moving songs, accompanied by Tineke’s regular band. Tineke bares her soul completely for her audience – now spanning four generations. Well, almost completely. Because the queen of character sketches has recently preferred to wear something with longer sleeves.

Femme Vitaal takes a spiritual journey towards inner beauty and primal power. Lovely, of course. But Tineke is also simply happy to be alive. Young at heart and with her GP’s approval, she’s therefore hitting the road again.
