Oude Bornhof
In this, the city’s largest courtyard, you can enjoy the greenery, the tranquillity and the view of the imposing Walburgiskerk. The centrepiece of the Oude Bornhof is Huize Borro, the home of the fabulously wealthy clergyman Borro. This philanthropist made his house available to elderly people in need. The striking entrance gate on the Zaadmarkt dates from 1723 and bears the coats of arms of the regents of the time. Above the gate stand sandstone sculptures of an elderly man and woman.
