Zuidvenne Artisanal Smokehouse
With artisanal smokehouse Zuidvenne, our city and the East of the Netherlands have gained an old Dutch tradition. In the shop, they offer their exclusively smoked goods. And for the gourmet, you can also go there for lunch and everything is homemade.
'Sutfene' (Zutphen) traditionally a swamp area called Zuidelijke Vennen. In our Hanseatic city, 'smoking' on wood continues with age-old knowledge and in the traditional way. Each fish has a different wood blend. They salt with Sel Gris from Guerande (FR). They also smoke sea salt there, where once the Drogenapstoren was known as the former Salt Gate and gave access to the Saltmarkt (current name Zaadmarkt), history lives on in this company.
